Girls Inc. of San Antonio works to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
At Girls Inc., girls grow up healthy, educated, and independent. The Girls Inc. Experience consists of
people, an environment, and programming that, together, empower girls to succeed. Trained staff and
volunteers build lasting, mentoring relationships in girls-only spaces that are physically and emotionally
safe and where girls find a sisterhood of support with shared drive, mutual respect, and high expectations.
Girls Inc. of San Antonio puts mission into practice by providing year-round, holistic, compensatory, and
intentional programming in a girls-only environment that is physically, socially and emotionally safe.
Hands-on, research-based programs provide girls
with the skills and knowledge to set goals, overcome
obstacles, and improve academic performance.
The primary purpose of all programs is to help girls
explore and celebrate their strengths, their voices,
who they are today, and who they will become.
Girls Inc. programs focus on:
Sound body image
College and Career Readiness
Let’s hear from some of the successful girls at Girls Inc.:
It has been about a year since I joined Girls Inc.
My experience with the
organization has been great. I wish I had heard about it sooner!!
some research and introduced me to the organization.
I was kind of nervous about joining new organization and meeting new
people; however, as soon as I joined I was made to feel welcome. I have
made some new friends and acquired some additional skills; such as,
speaking in public, thinking positive, feeling good about myself and
being more goal oriented.
Girls Inc. has opened a whole new world for me as I prepare to head off
Thanks, Girls Inc.!! – Ta’Aliyah
I joined Girls Inc. seven months ago after volunteering at the Girls RockIt
Into the Future Science Festival.
I was really impressed with all of the girls
and community involvement.
It helps remind me that girls need to help
This summer I worked with young girls ages 6 – 8 and enjoyed
it so much.
Having a bunch of girls in one place with different personalities
showed me how unique we all are. It was great to be surrounded by people
who presented women as not a picture but as a human being – someone
real and intelligent.
I loved the fact that at a young age we are telling girls
that it doesn’t matter what you look like but that you are comfortable in the
body you are in.
